Red Ale is a nice amber-coloured beer, with caramel and toffee malt flavours and a slightly dry finish. Can be brewed Low or Mid, from 2.6% to 4.8% ABV. See can for recipe options. Specifications (approx.) of 23L made with 1kg dextrose or brewing sugar: Colour - Amber Red, 20 EBC; Bitterness - Medium, 27 IBU; Grist - Red ale malt; Wort - OG 1.038; FG 1.008 (approx.); Yeast - Ale yeast. Dry Hop Additions suggested: No need to dry hop this malty beer, but 15g of East Kent Goldings, Fuggle or Magnum will bring some nice sweet, floral, spicy notes. This Classic Brown Ale kit comes complete with Ale yeast. This medium-bodied caramel, toffee flavoured brown ale is a satifying drink with a medium bitterness to finish. For a Brown Ale add 1.5kg Brick Road Amber malt extract. For a lighter Brown Ale add 1kg Brick Road Amber Dry malt extract (OR 1kg dextrose). Brick Road Dark Malt makes great-tasting beer with Brick Road beer kits, or with Brick Road Hopped Malt extract cans, or in all-grain recipes when you want only the finest malt flavour. This can will contribute a deep-amber colour up to 34 EBC in 23L, 1.021 gravity points and will replace approx. 1.75 kg of amber base grain in your wort.
